A symbol search on the public site opens a quote. The same symbol, inside the client center, loads the order ticket. The chart stays on the symbol you left it on.
Session and extended hours
The regular session is 09:30–16:00 America/New_York, Monday to Friday. Pre-market is 04:00–09:30. After-hours is 16:00–20:00. The client center stays open after the cash close; that does not mean a venue is accepting orders.
When the cash market is shut, the chart stops at the last in-session bar. It does not draw a string of tiny candles through the night. The next bar starts when the session opens.
