What Sterling Active shows

Sterling Active is the client blotter. Across the top is account value and day P&L. Under that, positions, working orders, the watchlist, and the ticket share one screen. Symbol search loads the ticket with the name you picked.

It is a desk layout, not a feed. The public homepage shows a still picture of that screen. The working copy is behind login.

Order types and time in force

• Market: fill at the next available price. In a paper book that price is the demonstration print.
• Limit: work at your price or better. It can stay working and never fill.
• Stop and stop-limit: the stop is the trigger. A stop-limit still needs a limit price or it will not be accepted.
• Day expires at the cash close. GTC remains working. IOC and FOK are immediate instructions, not a way to hold a quote.

The chart does not pick the symbol for you

Open XAU/USD, AAPL, or any other name and the chart stays there. Sending a ticket does not snap it back to Apple. It changes only when you change the symbol.

On the public site the chart is a still design. It does not pan or zoom. Inside the client center the chart is the working one, and it still keeps the symbol you left.

Approvals and hours

Cash equities are the default. Margin, options levels 1–4, futures, and FX each need their own agreement. Those workflows are described on their pages. They are not granted by opening the blotter.

U.S. stocks: 09:30–16:00 ET, Monday to Friday. Extended hours are 04:00–09:30 and 16:00–20:00 when that session is connected. Futures and FX print outside the cash equity day. The client center itself stays up after the close so you can read positions. An open screen is not an open venue.
